Junior Chambers International (JCI) Ipoh held their 48th Installation & Awards (IA) Luncheon at Kok Thai Restaurant Ipoh on Sunday, 23 March.
JCI is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that aims to build leadership in their members through community works, and is notable in that the president and board of directors only serve 1-year terms, so as to give all its members an opportunity to grow.
The event witnessed the transition of leadership, with Outgoing President Jasmine Liew passing the torch to Incoming President Emily Wong Li Hwa, who introduced the theme of “Build” for JCI Ipoh 2025. “Build” will focus on three core aspects: building people, brand, and relations; with the aim to strengthen JCI Ipoh’s presence and impact.
Various local organizations from across Malaysia were also present, alongside JCI Ipoh’s sister chapter, JCI Marina from Singapore. These included 2025 JCI Malaysia Executive National President Senator Alen Yeoh and Persatuan Usahawan Maju Malaysia (PUMM) National President Dato Dr. Teh Tai Yoong.
JCI Ipoh extended its gratitude to their sponsors, such as Smartrider Holdings Sdn. Bhd., Idex Professional, Bioalpha Holdings Berhad, Public Packaging Group Sdn. Bhd., and JL Wine Club. Others included Goodwill Dental Ipoh, SS Aluminium Glass Hardware Industries (M) Sdn. Bhd., and RT Petroleum Sdn. Bhd.
