KAMPAR: A Roll-On Roll-Off (roro) trash bin provided for public convenience at the Malim Nawar Public Market here was found to have been set on fire by irresponsible individuals.
The Kampar District Council (MDKpr) stated that the incident occurred yesterday and resulted in the damage of the large trash bin, which was designed for bulk waste management.
“During this festive Eid al-Fitr celebration, the Kampar District Council was informed that the roro trash bin provided for public convenience at the Malim Nawar Public Market had been set on fire.
“Public property such as roads, mosques, schools, parks, and infrastructure facilities are shared assets that need to be maintained.
“The public trash bin facility provided should be well-maintained so that it can be used by all local residents.
“Let us not have such a shallow mindset by taking matters into our own hands and destroying public facilities that are provided,” it said.
It added that MDKpr had to bear the cost of repairs to the damaged public facility.
“Let us all work together to maintain the public facilities provided to ensure that the environment in Kampar remains clean and well-managed,” it said.
