Ipoh Pet Adoption Drive: Restoring Faith in Humanity

By: Nur Nabilah

This past weekend, on the 5th and 6th of April, the spirit of compassion and second chances shone brightly during the April 2025 Pet Adoption Drive: A Weekend of Love, Hope & Second Chances at Lotus’s Ipoh Garden’s main entrance corridor, which was organised by Sri Sathya Global Association Malaysia.

A total of 23 live puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats found loving forever homes, making it a truly heartwarming and unforgettable event.

An adoption of a 5-year-old mother dog and her 6-month-old pup was one of the many touching stories. Once at risk of being abandoned, they were rescued just in time and welcomed into two loving families.

A moment that shows compassion still exists was when a partially blind kitten; small and vulnerable, found someone who saw it with love.

Each adoption that took place over the weekend told a unique story of resilience, love, and connection. Together, they formed a collective narrative of hope, one where animals once discarded or forgotten were seen, valued, and welcomed into new lives.

The success of the drive would not have been possible without the generous support of Lotus’s Malaysia Ipoh Garden Management, independent rescuers, the non-governmental organisation (NGO), The Forgotten Souls of Papan Dumpsite, dedicated volunteers, and all the adopters and well-wishers whose contributions made the event not just possible, but deeply meaningful.

Sri Sathya Sai Animal Care expressed their gratitude not only to those on the ground, but also to the higher power they believe guided the weekend’s many small miracles, from unexpected adoptions to renewed hope.

The team looks forward to the next adoption drive, with renewed passion and an ever-growing community of animal lovers ready to make a difference.
