IPOH : Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Lahat near Bandar Baru Lahat caught fire in an incident that occurred around 11 a.m. today.
According to the Assistant Director of Operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the fire involved a three-storey classroom building, Block D.
The blaze destroyed about 30 percent of the structure, including the roofs of seven rooms.
Affected areas included classrooms, special rooms, an art studio, and a storage room.
A total of 37 personnel from the Pasir Putih, Batu Gajah, Simpang Pulai Fire and Rescue Stations, as well as Volunteer Firefighters from Menglembu, Pasir Pinji, Pusing, and Pekan Baru, were dispatched to the scene.
