IPOH: Media personnel from various agencies play a vital role in conveying information and news about government initiatives to ensure the public understands them.
Accurate and transparent news reporting also helps dispel false narratives.
As part of the government machinery, DAP Perak consistently acknowledges the contributions made by media practitioners.
Perak State Executive Councillor for Domestic Trade, Consumer Affairs, and Chinese Villages, Woo Kah Leong, stated that the efforts carried out by the government must be communicated to the people.
“For us, the work of media practitioners is not something easy or simple.
“They carry an important responsibility in ensuring that the public receives authentic and truthful news and information.
“DAP Perak deeply values the services, contributions, and sacrifices of our media partners and will continue to advocate for the best for everyone and for our country,” he said.
The Pasir Berdamar State Assemblyman made these remarks during DAP Perak’s Aidilfitri Celebration with Perak Media held at a hotel here.
The event was attended by more than 30 media personnel from various agencies across Perak.
Also present were the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Member of Parliament for Teluk Intan, Nga Kor Ming, Member of Parliament for Beruas, Dato’ Ngeh Koo Ham, and other party leaders.
According to Kah Leong, the event is part of DAP Perak’s ongoing noble initiative to honour media personnel during every festive celebration.
“DAP is the only party that organises celebrations with the media for all major festivals, including Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, and Deepavali.
“This demonstrates that DAP consistently upholds the spirit of Malaysia Madani by embracing the diversity of cultures and religions,” he added.
