IPOH: The issue of the children’s playground at Taman Sri Wani, Jelapang here appears to be consistently overlooked by the authorities.
The sad state of the area, worsened by overgrown bushes and uncut grass, is an eyesore.
This is especially concerning since the park is regularly visited by children and the public in the evenings for recreation and to use the facilities provided there.
One resident claimed that the overgrown bushes and tall grass pose a danger to children, as there is a risk of venomous snakes hiding within.
Playground equipment such as swings, slides, and other fixtures were seen to be covered by weeds and tall grass.
Residents there are also hoping that the authorities will carry out grass-cutting and cleaning work in the field regularly.
“In the evenings, many children from the area come here to play.
“The grass has grown tall, and at times the maintenance is poorly done. I hope the authorities will monitor this issue.
“We also don’t want problems like dengue to spread, especially since this area has previously been a dengue hotspot. Please clean this place immediately,” the resident added.
