Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation (SADC) aims to expand the market for its cosmetic product, Forest Secret, throughout South East Asia over the next few years.
The product is being well-received in Indonesia since its introduction there in June of last year. According to SADC Chief Executive Officer, Ahmad Rizal Abdul Rahman, orders for the beauty product have been placed until the end of this year. An annual turnover of between RM3 to RM4 million is expected from the Indonesian market.
“Forest Secret is available at 23 Guardian outlets and 13 pharmacies in Jakarta, Indonesia. We plan to expand to Bandung and Medan,” said Ahmad Rizal to reporters during the opening of Malaysia’s first Forest Secret outlet at Casuarina@Meru, Ipoh recently.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri DiRaja Dr Zambry Abd Kadir in the presence of Dato’ Saarani Mohamad, the Executive Councillor for Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture, Housing and Local Government Committee.
The product was sold locally but was stopped due to a rebranding exercise. It will be supplied to the Casuarina@Meru outlet on a regular basis thus creating some economic opportunities for those in the business. The corporation plans to enter the Singapore market next year.
