Buntong Assemblyman, Sivasubramaniam presented a contribution of RM5000 to Persatuan Penganut-Penganut Kew Ong Tai Tay (Kew Ong Tai Tay Buddhist Association) in Buntong recently.
“There are many religious institutions which are in need of funds after having been closed for almost three months during the MCO due to the pandemic. This gesture reflects that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government is always concerned about the people’s welfare and is committed to aid all regardless of ethnicity,” he explained to the media at the Kew Ong Tai Tay Temple located at Lorong Buntung Jaya 11, Buntong 4, 30100 Ipoh.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Persatuan Penganut-Penganut Kew Ong Tai Tay, Kong Wai Mun expressed his utmost gratitude for the contribution.
“This contribution will help to bear the cost of the utility bills and repair works,” he stated.
According to Sivasubramaniam, the state government allocates a total of RM300,000 a year to be utilised by religious institutions of all ethnicities in Buntong.
“As an assemblyman, I will listen to the people and help them in any way I can regardless of religion and ethnicity,” he concluded.
