Vandalism Destroys Art

The recent act of vandalism towards a renowned mural in Shah Alam, Selangor has garnered heated criticisms from netizens in the country.

The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) had immediately executed an operation to erase the mural which is located at Section U12.

According to an online portal, two individuals were seen via a video surveillance of the area, shared by a Twitter user, lasting 2 minutes and 20 seconds.

Netizens were shocked to find out that the perpetrators were women and conveyed hope that relevant authorities are able to find out their identities.

The incident is still under investigation and police are hunting down the irresponsible women.

The mural depicts His Majesty Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Director-General of Health Dato’ Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

It was created by three young artists, Muhammad Suhaimi Ali, Abdul Hadi Ramli, both 27 and Muhamad Firdaus Nordin, 26 as a token of appreciation for the frontliners and leaders of Malaysia during the COVID-19 crisis.

All three resented the immoral act and described it as an embarrassing betrayal towards the country.
