Year 1 to Year 4 primary students started their schooling sessions under the new norm today.
Ipoh Echo’s visit to Sekolah Kebangsaan Tasek Dermawan at Kampung Tersusun Tasek, Bercham today on July 22 saw more than 85 percent of students’ attendance which covers 48 students from Year 1, 69 students from Year 2, 75 students from Year 3, 73 students from Year 4, 65 students from Year 5 and 63 students from Year 6.
The school’s senior assistant of student affairs, Muhamad Azizul Rahim Musa, stated that they always ensure both teachers and students follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Perak State Education Department and North Kinta District Education Office.
“We make sure that students move around in a one-way passage when in the school premises, based on installed signs,” he told Ipoh Echo.
“Temperature readings are obtained at the main entrance and temperature record slips are given to students,” Muhamad Azizul added. “They will then pass the slips to their respective teachers which will then be recorded into log books.
Muhamad Azizul mentioned that the school will announce SOP guidelines and prevention of COVID-19 via their loudspeakers before every start of school sessions and recesses.
“Teachers are entrusted to ensure that their students are at their respective seats,” he added. “Hopefully, these SOP guidelines and monitoring will discipline students further.”
