New hope shines on 71-year-old P. Ramasamy after he received a contribution of recovery equipment from Tualang Sekah state assemblyperson Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi yesterday (September 14).
Ramasamy is one of the beneficiaries of Ilat Perkeso, since suffering from walking difficulties and chronic diseases since last year.
According to Nolee Ashilin, he is a former employee of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (Kampar Branch), who worked as a metre reader from 1990 to 2004.
“Ramasamy is an insured person. It was confirmed by the Appellate Medical Board of Perkeso that he suffered from health issues,” she said. “Due to his invalid state, Ramasamy qualifies to receive a monthly pension of RM1,540.10 through Perkeso.
“Today, Perkeso contributed disposable diapers and a wheelchair to Ramasamy, while the state government donated monetary consolations to him,” Nolee Ashilin added. “Hopefully, these contributions relieve Ramasamy of his medical expenses a little.”
Meanwhile, director of Perkeso (Perak State), Anthony Arul Dass stated that monthly contributions to Perkeso will guarantee stable welfare to employees should they fall ill.
“These monthly contributions will lift the burden off their shoulders and insure them should they encounter severe events or experience critical health issues,” he said.
