The Persatuan Kebajikan Love and Care Menglembu Perak, an old folks’ home, were overwhelmed by IpohBug’s love and care during their community project in conjunction with Kindness Week on September 24.
Arriving with pails of paint and brandishing paint brushes, the team of 15 young members went about giving the home a new coat of paint. Besides that, IpohBug members also did minor repairs on the leaking water pipes, mending the mosquito nettings on the windows and clearing blocked drains around the home. During the lunch and tea breaks, the youngsters had an enjoyable time mingling with the lonely residents who were more than eager to share a story or two about their personal lives and life in particular.
Eugene Ong, the spokesman for the team said that this was their first community project this year in view of the pandemic and they intend to carry out more in future. This is to develop and instill a sense of responsibility, care and love for the community into IpohBug’s young members. One can’t help but reminisce on the song “Try a Little Kindness” by the late Glen Campbell.
