The official launch of AEON Mall Taiping in Kamunting recently signifies the opening of the 32nd store of the retail chain in the country and in Perak, this is the fourth store following the first one in Ipoh Kinta City, then in Station 18 Pengkalan, followed by Manjung.
Chairman of Aeon Company (M) Berhad, Datuk Abdullah Mohd Yusof in his address during the launch said, “The opening of AEON Mall Taiping is in recognition of the rapid development of Taiping, and generally, Perak.
“Construction costs may have exceeded RM66 million but our mall has adopted the green concept. Responding to the call of the government to keep the earth green, we are planting 13,000 trees of various species around our building, just like how we have done at our other shopping malls throughout the country.”
Datuk Abdullah believed that the opening of AEON Mall Taiping would help improve the state’s economy, what with the various sales and promotions that would attract shoppers from in and around the area.
The official launch was graced by HRH Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, who presented donations from Yayasan AEON Malaysia to welfare homes and orphanages in and around Taiping. Also present at the function was Kamunting state assemblyman Dato’ Mohd Zahir Abd Khalid.
