Some 40 media practitioners in Perak received food box contributions from Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc).
According to the chief executive officer of MB Inc, Anuar Zainal Abidin, the aid is a form of awareness from government-linked companies (GLC) towards media practitioners who were affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
“We understand these trying times that all media personnel are currently enduring,” he told reporters after contributing food boxes to the media at Ipoh Echo’s office recently.
“Apart from the public, the media is also in need of assistance. The various stages of the Movement Control Order (MCO) have witnessed many affected parties who need help, especially the media,” Anuar added.
“This is the first contribution for the second phase of MB Inc’s food box contributions during the MCO.
“Some 14,000 food boxes have already been contributed to the needy during the first phase, which was between March till June,” he mentioned.
The contribution programme is a joint initiative between MB Inc and Perak Media Sports and Welfare Club (KSKMP).
Its president, Rosli Mansor Ahmad Razali said that the contribution carries a significant thought to media practitioners who’ve had their source of income affected.
“I would like to thank MB Inc for the collaborative contribution with KSKMP in helping media practitioners, both part-timers or those under contracts, whose incomes are very limited,” he mentioned.
“Despite facing difficulties caused by CMCO, the media still carry their responsibilities with full dedication. Media personnel are also considered frontliners, yet their fate is always overlooked by many.
“Hopefully, the contribution will lessen their economic constraints,” Rosli expressed.
