To aid small-scale businesses, hawkers and micro-entrepreneurs affected by the ongoing Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), the state government has allocated some RM9 million for the fourth phase of the economic stimulus package for Perak.
According to Perak Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, under the package, RM1.63 million is for rental exemption for food stall operators under the administration of local authorities (PBT), RM4.65 million for a RM500 one-off payment aid and RM2.7 million for the Perak Entrepreneur Grant (GeRUP).
“The rental exemption, which is for the whole month of November, will benefit 10,335 businesses and hawkers under all 15 PBTs in the state,” he told reporters at the state secretariat building here today (November 19).
“The RM500 one-off payment each is to aid 9,316 small-scale businesses and hawkers. This payment is the second of its kind to be done in line with the second phase of the stimulus package.
“The allocation of funds for GeRUP is to assist more micro-entrepreneurs affected by the pandemic,” Faizal elaborated. “This also followed the second phase of the stimulus package, where RM1 million was allocated.”
