Malaysia’s leading delivery platform, Foodpanda, through its on-demand delivery service, Shops, offers daily essentials and grocery delivery services from over 3,500 vendors nationwide with a delivery time of under 30 minutes. This allows customers to order numerous products from a wide variety of stores on a single platform.
Recently, Foodpanda partnered up with Tesco, Malaysia’s first major retailer on Shops, to further strengthen the offerings with up to 3,000 additional items ranging from fresh produce to groceries.
“Partnering with Tesco gives our customers more choices and increased accessibility to them, as this would add 62 stores nationwide,” explained Sayantan Das, Managing Director of Foodpanda Malaysia.
Participating Tesco stores in Perak include Tesco Ipoh and Tesco Station 18.
Some of the popular product categories featured on Shops are beverages, snacks, fresh foods, frozen foods and personal care products.
“Speed and convenience are becoming more important than ever before. We are confident that the on-demand shopping experience can cut traditional waiting times, adding a fresh take to conventional e-commerce and retail shop experiences,” he expressed.
As more consumers are moving toward online shopping, the easy-to-use app provides a quick, hassle-free shopping experience. By using Shops, customers can eliminate the need to drive to physical malls or shops, as well as avoid traffic congestion, parking hassles and exposure to crowds. Thus a safe and contact-free shopping experience is ensured.
Additionally, the platform has provided a launchpad for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to move their businesses online via their app. Heavily impacted brick-and-mortar businesses have vastly benefited from this.
“It is fortunate that we are in a position to help local business owners and their employees. The pandemic has shuttered many physical stores worldwide, which were not able to readily move their business online. We hope that by providing the tools and guidance on our platform, we can help many SMEs to stay in business,” Das added.
