Some RM2.95 million in total was allocated by the state government to state assembly service centres in Perak.
According to the Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu in a media statement dated today (November 30), the allocation will be distributed by the service centres directly to flood victims regardless of race, religion and political understanding.
“The government understands the difficulties that the public is going through, especially due to floods and effects of the Movement Control Order (MCO), both conditional and enhanced,” he said.
Faizal mentioned, the aid which is under the fourth phase of the Perak State Economic Stimulus Package, will be channeled to 59 service centres in the state, including 24 under the Opposition. Each will receive RM50,000.
“Previously, the government contributed RM80,000 to the said service centres during the original MCO between March to May 2020 (RM4.72 million in total),” he added.
Faizal assured that the aid distribution will be executed in order and transparently to ensure it reaches targeted groups without any political influences.
“Hopefully, the service centres abide by SOPs while carrying out the distribution, so that the ongoing pandemic’s third wave of infection can be contained,” he expressed.
