RM900,000 for Chinese Independent High Schools

The state government has allocated a total of RM900,000 to nine Chinese independent high schools in the Perak, where each school will receive RM100,000.

According to Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, the allocation is to aid the schools where operations were affected due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

“Hopefully, the contribution will lessen the schools’ burden,” he told reporters at his office after presenting mock cheques to school representatives in the state secretariat building today (December 5).

Also present were state assemblymen for Tronoh and Buntong constituencies, Paul Yong Choo Kiong and Sivasubramaniam Athinarayanan.

The schools which received aid were Shen Jai High School, Poi Lam High School, Yuk Choy High School, Ipoh; Pei Yuan High School, Kampar; Hua Lian High School, Taiping; Yik Ching High School, Pantai Remis; Nan Hwa High School, Ayer Tawar; San Min Secondary School, Teluk Intan; and Tsung Wah Secondary School, Kuala Kangsar.

Meanwhile, Faizal urged educators to give their all in providing a conducive learning environment to students.

“These are tough times we’re living in today, what more with the ongoing pandemic, but education should not be put in slow motion just because of it.

“After all, it’s the future of generations to come that’s our priority right now.

“I can only wish for COVID-19 to be successfully exterminated as soon as next year, so that our children can return to learning normally,” he expressed.
