Perak state assembly members (DUN) have yet to provide a simple majority to convince the Sultan of Perak in the formation a new government.
According to member of the Perak Royal Council, Dato’ Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini, the meetings held with the assembly members today (December 8) were still unable to convince HRH Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
“His Highness still requires a simple majority from the members to obtain confidence in the candidate.
“Only when that is presented to Sultan Nazrin, can the swearing-in ceremony be held to appoint the said candidate as the new Menteri Besar of Perak in forming a new government,” he told reporters at Istana Kinta here just now.
