Syed Basri Syed Lin, 55, was charged with forging documents for verification of project completions. He committed the offence at Sultan Azlan Shah Polytechnic (PSAS) in Slim River, Perak on November 6, 2018.
He is convicted under Section 471 of the Penal Code and is subject to punishment under Section 465 of the same Code, which entails a RM10,000 fine or nine months imprisonment for failure to pay for the fine.

Businessman Pleaded Not Guilty for Bribery
In a separate case, a contractor pleaded not guilty for two charges of bribery at the same court today.
Lai Kim Seong, 52, was charged with bribing a customer services officer as a motive to issue temporary employment passes for foreign workers.
The defendant allegedly bribed the officer with RM700 for the first charge and RM1,000 for the second charge.
He committed both offences at Tesco Extra Ipoh Garden on January 18, 2017 (first) and February 13, 2017 (second).
For both offences, he is charged under Section 16(b)(A) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 (Act 694), in which if he is convicted, he is subject to a fine of at least five times the total amount of bribe funds or RM10,000, whichever is higher; imprisonment of up to 20 years, or both.
The court ordered for an RM18,000 bail, which was reduced to RM12,000 after negotiation from the defendant’s representing lawyer, Amrit Singh.
The case was set for re-mention on June 10 later this year.
