500 B40 Families Receive Aid

Recipients made up of 500 families in the B40 category at Flat Ashby, Kampung Kepayan and Kampung Tase expressed their gratitude upon receiving aid from the Perak MCA Public Services and Complaints Bureau recently.

According to bureau chief, Low Guo Nan, the aid in the form of daily necessities such as rice, flour, sugar and dates were presented to the underprivileged including the elderly.

Low, who also serves as the deputy chief of the national MCA Public Services and Complaints Bureau, explained that the distribution is an act of care to lessen the financial burden of the needy, especially among the Muslim recipients who are fasting in the month of Ramadan.

“Many are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, including those who have their livelihoods affected which created a new class of poor.

“This group needs the attention of the government. Besides that, there are children who could not return to their hometowns to visit their elderly parents. All these require the patience and cooperation of the people,” he told the press.

Low, together with the volunteers, presented the aid to the B40 families at Flat Ashby beginning 2.30pm and ended an hour later.
