HRPB: No Queue-jumping for Vaccine Injections
Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) denied a viral issue on social media claiming that female artist, Datin Eina Azman and her spouse had jumped the queue and received their COVID-19 vaccination at the hospital recently.
This is because the pair is indeed listed as vaccine recipients under the advice of medical experts who treated them because they are categorised in the high-risk group.
Director of HRPB, Dr. Abdul Malek Osman stated that the vaccination centre (PPV) of HRPB received referrals of patients from various health facilities in and out of the state.
According to him, all patients directed to this PPV have undergone a preliminary check known as Pre-Vaccination Assessment (PVA) which is only available at hospital specialist clinics.
“HRPB only provides vaccine injections to the referred patients or clients and does not carry out PVA at the hospital’s PPV facility.
“The second phase of vaccination prioritises those 60 years old and above and individuals with comorbidities, as well as high-risk groups.
“The eligibility of the couple to be administered vaccine injections is based on referrals by medical experts who have treated the couple for their health issues and comorbidities,” he said in a statement.
Eina and her husband received their COVID-19 vaccination at the HRPB PPV last Tuesday.
At the same time, Dr. Abdul Malek hopes for members of the public, especially those in high-risk groups, to register for vaccination via the MySejahtera app or the website: www.vaksincovid.gov.my.
