A fire involving a lorry broke out at KM244 of the PLUS North-South Expressway (Southbound) near the Kuala Kangsar toll exit earlier today (June 2).
A spokesperson for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said that an emergency call regarding the incident was received at around 11.22am.
“A squad and a vehicle from the Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were rushed to the scene right after.
“Upon arrival, the 10-tonne lorry which was transporting plastics had already been 75 percent damaged by the fire.
“The squad used two 100ft hose reels each with two water-based jets to extinguish the fire. No victims were involved.
“The cause of the fire is still under investigation,” he explained.
The operation which ended at around 12.36pm was led by Senior Fire Officer II (PBK II) Saiful Hanif Mahmad Ayub.
