Perak State Legislative Assembly Meeting to Commence August 25
The 14th Perak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) will be holding their fourth term’s first meeting on August 25 later this year.
According to the Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato’ Saarani Mohamad, the four-day DUN meeting was allowed by HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
“His Highness will be present to officiate the opening ceremony on the first day of the meeting.
“Based on preliminary preparations, the DUN meeting will be physically held, whereby all state legislative assembly members (ADUNs) are set to be present, while heads of departments and observers will follow suit remotely.
“As usual, the meeting will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube,” he told reporters in an online media session via Zoom today (June 30).
Saarani added, a separate meeting with security officials, which include the state-level National Security Council (MKN) will be held in the nearest timeframe to obtain advice regarding SOP adherence.
“This is because the DUN meeting is scheduled to commence in one of the phases of Movement Control under the National Recovery Plan (NRP).
“It’s to discuss and determine the amount of attendance in the hall, physical distancing aspects, seating placements for the ADUNs and other SOP-related matters.
“Hopefully, the scheduled DUN meeting is utilised to the best extent by citizens’ representatives in order to share views and ideas regarding collective efforts to break the transmission chain of COVID-19,” he expressed.
