The vaccination process in the country is running as scheduled and the rate of vaccination continues to rise, recording the highest daily vaccination rate at 507,050 doses yesterday (July 22).
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the figure brings the total number of individuals who received the first dose to 10,920,860, with 5,104,054 having completed two doses of vaccine.
“Since July 12, the National COVID-19 Immunisation Program (PICK) has recorded daily doses of more than 400,000 almost every day.
“We are glad that we achieved the highest daily vaccination rate yesterday at 507,050 doses,” he said in a statement on his official Facebook page today (July 23).
The Prime Minister also announced that 46.7 percent of the country’s adult population has received at least one dose and 21.8 percent completed two doses.
“This achievement is in line with the target set and must be enhanced in order to achieve the target for 26 million Malaysians to receive complete vaccination.
“With vaccination, we’ll be able to reduce the burden of increasing cases in the hospitals and reduce cases of severe infections, thus moving towards the success of the National Recovery Plan,” he said.
At the same time, he expressed gratitude and praised the people for their continuous support of PICK, especially to the frontliners and volunteers of the vaccination centres who helped in this program.
