The walk-in vaccination initiative will be expanded to five specific groups at public vaccination centres (PPV) throughout Malaysia to ensure that vaccination efforts continue to be enhanced in the country.
Among them are the elderly, differently-abled persons (OKU), individuals with comorbidities aged 18 and above, as well as people who missed their second dose of vaccination.
Also given priority are teachers as well as members of executive groups and contract support service employees at educational institutions of the Ministry of Education.
A spokesperson for the COVID-19 Immunisation Special Task Force (CITF) said in a statement that individuals who missed their second dose can go to any nearby PPV to receive it.
“If the PPV does not offer the same type of vaccine as the first dose, they will be referred to another PPV,” he explained.
Commenting further, CITF said that Klang Valley residents who do not belong to any of the above categories but wish to walk-in for the first dose as they do not have appointments can do so by visiting the PPVs that have been listed previously.
“Walk-ins to PPVs listed previously are now allowed according to the operating hours of the respective PPVs and will no longer start at 2pm.
Pregnant women are not encouraged to walk-in, instead they will be given an appointment via MySejahtera according to the expected date of delivery to the suitable PPV,” mentioned in the statement.
