The police of Perak is investigating a video that depicted a security guard of a condominium in Ipoh being attacked by a man, causing the former to faint after having injuries sustained on his head.
According to the state police chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid, the video went viral in WhatsApp around 10.30am on Thursday (August 26).
“After verification exercises, the incident was found to have taken place on December 29 last year.
“Based on records, the police had previously arrested the suspect and a remand order was issued under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
“Investigations found that the suspect was unhappy with the guard for not allowing his child to use the condominium’s pool which was closed to the public during the time of incident, and it had led to the violent act.”
Mior explained in a statement dated today (August 28), adding that the victim was sent to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun (HRPB) in Ipoh for treatment after the incident.
“Investigation papers had been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor on January 5 earlier this year, in which the suspect was charged the day after (January 6) under Section 335 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt on grave and sudden provocation.
“The case was originally scheduled for mention on September 9,” he elaborated.
“However, the victim passed away in his house yesterday (August 27). Postmortem found that he succumbed to an infection in his lungs.
“With that said, family members of the deceased claimed that the incident which took place on the date mentioned was the cause of death.
“The police will be referring new investigation results of the case to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further actions,” Mior added.
