A total of 126,211 school students aged 12 to 17 across Perak have registered for the COVID-19 vaccination as of yesterday (October 4).
Menteri Besar of Perak, Dato’ Saarani Mohamad said that of the total, 115,617 students or 91.6 percent have received at least the first dose of vaccination.
“According to the age breakdown, a total of 61,853 students aged 16 to 17 have registered and of it, 55,976 (90.5 percent) have been inoculated.
“For students aged 12 to 15, 64,358 have registered and 59,641 (92.67 percent) have been vaccinated.
“A total of 41 vaccination centers (PPV) have been opened for the purpose of implementing this program, including schools, vocational colleges and public PPVs,” he told the media after a visit to the Adolescent Vaccination Programme at the PPV for youths at SMA Izzuddin Shah today (October 5).
The youth vaccination programme has begun in Perak since September 20, which is run jointly by the Health Department and the Education Department of the state.
