The Ipoh City Council (MBI) continues to embrace digitalisation via the launch of its digital platform known as D-MBI@Ipoh on October 11.
The digital platform offers multiple services online which are accessible via smartphones, tablets and computers using only one user account or user ID.
Besides having new functions which are more comprehensive, flexible, real-time and with increased safety levels, D-MBI@Ipoh also has a responsive design following current trends and is user-friendly.
Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin said the development of the D-MBI@Ipoh involved two phases. In phase 1, it involved the online payment system which had been improved from the “e-Semak & e-Cetak” system introduced since 2012.
Before the launch of D-MBI@Ipoh, MBI had successfully collected a revenue of RM37,813,424.90 with 399,160 transactions via the systems of “e-Semak & e-Cetak” and “eBayaran@MBI”.
Three functions were developed under phase 1: Check Bill, Payment and Payment Receipt.
The bills that can be checked include assessment tax, licence, rental, compound and more. Meanwhile, those who make online payments will receive the status of payment in real time
“Under phase 2, three categories of MBI services will be developed: Licence and Business, Community and Developer & Supplier. These three categories will have 15 menu options; among them are eLesen, MyNorisk, MyAduan, hall rental, eSupplier and more.”
He was quoted as saying during the council’s October full board meeting at the MBI meeting hall today (October 30).
Present were council secretary, Ahmad Munir Ishak, senior directors and heads of departments of the MBI.
Rumaizi explained that the upgrade will be continued according to current needs in order to achieve the vision of a Digital Community by 2025.
Meanwhile, the facilities of the MBI, especially its halls, are currently open for rental such as for the purpose of badminton games, aerobics and dances only, subject to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the Ministry of Health.
According to him, at the Sports Complex (Kompleks Sukan), only the Perak Stadium, Tuanku Zara Aquatic Centre, Lawn Bowl Arena and Azlan Shah Stadium are accessible by members of the public and associations.
“The others are still being used by the Ministry of Health to quarantine COVID-19 patients and as part of the vaccination centre.
“The same goes for the opening of the Tun Abdul Razak Library, where the library always organises educational events for the public.
“An event which was held virtually this October was the MY Love PTR Malaysia Prihatin programme which featured various competitions such as drawing, coloring and recitation,” he shared.
