State Government Provides Immediate Aid to Storm Victims
Residents whose homes were damaged in the storm incident yesterday evening will receive immediate aid of RM300 for house repair.
The compassionate aid (bantuan ehsan) will be presented to the residents involved today with an overall total of RM65,000.
Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the current focus is to repair the damaged roofs blown off by the wind in case of rain.
“The compassionate aid will be paid via the District Office this evening.
“The state government has also identified contractors to be appointed to provide immediate repair as tomorrow is Chinese New Year,” he stated.
He said so during a visit to the area hit by the storm in Klebang today.
Present was the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Duties), Datuk Mastura Mohd. Yazid.
Overall, a total of 219 homes were affected, with 30 houses at Desa Seri Chepor, 49 at Kampung Tawas and Kampung Tasek Damai, 30 at Klebang and 110 at Taman Desa Impian.
The affected residents will also receive aid of RM1,000 from the federal government via the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).
The census will be conducted by the District Office to provide a list of residents affected by the storm.
