“It is delicious, I’d give it five stars! The Sotong Bakar Sambal Petai is my favourite main dish,” said one of the diners during the breaking of fast at Laman Manjoi Restaurant, Ipoh.
A restaurant serving Muslim-Chinese cuisine, the highlights on the menu include Daging Kam Heong, Kailan Ying Yang, Prawn Salted Egg, Butter Prawn and more.
During Ramadan, visitors can choose from the various packages which are divided into four sets according to the number of diners and number of dishes.
Chef Muhammad Nazrul Hazim Mohd Hashim said the restaurant offers four packages of the dome set: Set A (4 people) at RM80 with 5 types of dishes; Set B (6 people) at RM120 with 6 types of dishes; Set C (8 people) at RM160 with 7 types of dishes and Set D (10 people) at RM199 with 8 types of dishes.
“All sets come with dates, fruits, kuih, cordial and rice. Bookings must be made before 2.00pm.
“We prepare five sets of menu from Sunday till Saturday. Among the highly requested items are Ikan Bakar, Ayam Pandan, Daging Kam Heong, Ayam Butter, Prawn Salted Egg, Ikan Harlock, Udang Masak Lemak, Sotong Bakar Sambal Petai, Sup Tomyam, Udang Sambal Petai, Sotong Celup Tepung and Kerang Bakar.
“We also offer packages for ‘Tapau Box’ (takeaway) with dishes, rice, dates, mineral water and boxed drinks. It is priced at RM15 a pack and booking must be made a day before.”
Laman Manjoi began its operation in 2021. It is run by a young female entrepreneur, Fadhilah Zahid. She turned the residential lot into a restaurant, a first at Gugusan Manjoi.
Laman Manjoi also offers a venue for weddings, group bookings, BBQ steamboat and “shell outs” (eating food served open-concept on table).
