Look up in the sky, it’s Supermoon
On July 13 at 5:09pm Malaysian time, the moon will be in perigee, meaning that it will be at its closest to the Earth at about 363,396km away.
When a full moon is in perigee, it is called a ‘supermoon’. Meaning that the moon will look noticeably bigger than it normally is. Around 7% bigger when compared to a regular full moon. Supermoons can be 14% bigger and 30% brighter than ‘micromoons’, which is when the full moon is in apogee, meaning that it is at its furthest away from the Earth
So if you fancy some night time photography or simply to bask in the pale moonlight, just look up at the night sky tomorrow.
