XP Power to Build its First Factory in Malaysia in Perak

XP Power Pte Ltd, a leading manufacturer of electrical and electronics (E&E) components, selected Perak as the venue to build its first factory in Malaysia and its third in Southeast Asia.

According to a statement on the Facebook page of the State Secretariat Office, this marks another success in the economic recovery effort by the state government.

Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad stated that the presence of XP Power Malaysia will surely provide a very significant impact to the development of the state especially the Perak Tengah District.

“The implementation of the project’s first phase known as ‘Asia III’ will involve an investment worth RM300 million, making it the largest investment by XP Power in the region.

  • “The construction of a factory on an industrial lot of 8.5 hectares will begin this month and is expected to be fully operational by the second quarter of 2024.

He was quoted as saying so when attending the groundbreaking ceremony of the project at the Pharmaceutical Industrial Park in Seri Iskandar recently.

According to him, the leading manufacturer with more than three decades of experience in the industry is interested in establishing collaboration with the local institutes of higher education and skills to employ more local expertise and manpower.

“XP Power is set to cooperate with the Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO), Advanced Technology Training Centre (ADTEC) Taiping, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Industrial Training Institute (ILP) Ipoh and Perak Entrepreneur and Skills Development Centre (PESDC) Ipoh.

“I hope Perakeans, especially the youth, can grab these quality career opportunities in line with one of the cores of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan which is ‘Quality and High-value Expertise’.

Present at the groundbreaking ceremony were Executive Councillor for Industry, Investment & Corridor Development, Dato’ Shahrul Zaman Datuk Yahya;

Executive Councillor for Youth and Sports, Communication and Multimedia, Khairul Shahril Mohamed; Chief Executive of Perak Invest Management Centre (InvestPerak), Izran Abdullah and Chief Financial Officer of XP Power, Oskar Zahn.
