Meet the Customers Day: More Than 70 Percent Of Complaints Have Been Resolved
The Perak government has received a total of 873 complaints during the six series of Meet the Customers Day Programme since last February.
Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said of the total, more than 70 percent of complaints have been resolved.
According to him, the highest number of complaints recorded in each programme is related to land issues.
“On behalf of the state government, we do not want to hear that sometimes there are messages spread on social media or letters claiming that it is difficult for the people to meet with the government.
“Whether it’s the Menteri Besar, Exco or government officials. Sometimes they walk into the office, or maybe the officials involved have a meeting outside and can’t meet at that particular time.
“That’s why we set a day that we announce to everyone, so they have to be aware of that date and can come here because the officers are here,” he said.
He said this at a press conference after the Perak Government’s sixth Meet the Customers Day Programme, at the Indera Mulia Stadium on Tuesday.
Also present was State Government Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim.
Saarani said today’s programme involved 112 government departments and agencies which included 92 customer service counters, 20 exhibition spaces and seven mobile counter services.
He said that a total of 212 visitors attended to resolve their respective issues, and that 118 complaints were received today.
“There were several complaints successfully resolved today and the rest will be resolved within the period set by the relevant agency or department.
“The booth with the highest number of complaints was from the District Office and Tanah Kinta with 20 complaints.
“The number of visitors also increases for each series of programmes. It is interesting to me to see that there are the same people who keep coming to follow up because they feel that their application is not moving.
“But they have to understand that the application cannot be acted upon immediately. There are some who came to see us and made the application last week, but this week they have come to follow up, so of course it will take time to complete,” he added.
Saarani said his party is committed to providing the best service to every issue faced by the community in this state.
