The Nostalgic Legends Charity Event Uplifts Artist Community
The presence of four legendary artists at the Nostalgic Legends Charity Event (MANL) which took place at the Royal Perak Golf Club (RPGC) recently was meaningful to the artists who were affected after the pandemic.
Congratulations to MANL Advisor, YM Dr Raja Putra Shah for his success in organising a ceremony that was brilliant, full of emotion and able to bring tears to the eyes of 600 people in the audience consisting of local entrepreneurs, GLC companies and national entrepreneurship industry support agencies.
According to Raja Putra Shah, even though it’s been two years since COVID-19 hit the world, the impact is still leaving its mark in that some artists have lost their income to support their families.
“There is no exception, some musicians are forced to sell their musical instruments due to constraints during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period and standard operating procedures (SOP) did not allow the organisation of events in large numbers.
“It is fitting that the initiatives implemented by Nerv Global Sdn Bhd and the Malaysian Employees’ Association (Karyawan) coincide in raising funds to help artists in need,” he told Ipoh Echo who also represented Nerv Global Sdn Bhd.
The presence of the DYAM Tuanku Raja DiHilir Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris Shah who agreed to attend the evening ceremony, injected the artists with enthusiasm in performing.
Also present were the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud and his wife as well as the President of the Malaysian Employees Association, Datuk Freddie Fernandez.
Commenting further on the selection of the four legendary artists, Raja Putra Shah said it coincided with a nostalgia that is still close to the hearts of Malaysians.
“Why did we choose these four legendary artists, namely Shuib, Fredo, Jay Jay and Zur Eda? They are artists of the same generation who were once popular with their respective hits in the 80s.
“Kenangan Lalu sung by Fredo Flybaits, Mulanya di Sini sung by Shuib Freedom, Rindu Bayangan sung by Jay Jay Carefree and Pelitaku sung by Zur Eda certainly brought back nostalgic memories”, he said.
Also brightening up the ceremony were guest artists, Iqa Nasra, Mentor 5 finalist and Datin Maylene Yong, an icon of charity work, in addition to the Migos group, Aswara graduate musicians who performed.
The success of the evening event also encouraged Raja Putra Shah to continue the charity event collaboration with the ‘Nostalgia Legenda’ brand with Nerv Global Sdn Bhd.
A little background on Raja Putra Shah, he is certainly no stranger to managing musical programmes in collaboration with RTM and TV3. He said that even though they have no power to eliminate the challenges of the post-pandemic impact, at least they are able to help local artists and art activists with the initiative. He also said that the Nostalgia Legenda charity event was able to give aspirations to the public based on the slogan Kita Jaga Kita and Keluarga Malaysia.
At the same time, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah, was pleased to present the United Entrepreneurs Awards (UEA) to 13 recipients based on their record of excellence in supporting the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
