Voting day for the 15th General Election (GE15) has been set on November 19, which is a Saturday.
While the candidate nomination and early voting dates are set on November 5 and 15 respectively.
The dates were announced by the Chairman of the Election Commission (EC), Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh at the GE15 press conference at Menara EC.
According to Abdul Ghani Salleh, the By-Election of the State Legislative Assembly N66 Bugaya, Sabah will also be held simultaneously with GE15.
Based on the dates announced, the campaigning period will last for 14 days starting after the candidate nomination day on November 5.
Abdul Ghani chaired a special EC meeting to determine important dates for GE15 after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of the Parliament on October 10.
Yesterday, the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and the government stated that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong expressed the hope that GE15 should be held in the near future, before the North East Monsoon.
