MBI won 2 categories of the e-Waste competition and 2 schools also won their respective categories

The Ipoh City Council (MBI) emerged as champions for two categories of the Electrical and Electronic Waste (e-Waste) Collection Competition in conjunction with the 2022 Perak State Level National Environment Day (HASN).
The category involves the Local Authority with the Most Electrical and Electronic Waste (e-Waste) and Programme Organisers with the Largest Number of e-Waste Collections.
In the meantime, two schools under the administration of MBI also won their respective categories in the competition.
The school of SMK Raja Perempuan at Jalan Batu Bungkal won as the champion in the Middle School category for the Most e-Waste Collection.
While SK Rapat Setia won second place in the Elementary School category for the Most e-Waste Collection.
The mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud, said that the activity furthers the target of Ipoh being the cleanest city by 2023 and making the city of Ipoh sustainable and livable.
The Perak State Level HASN 2022 was successfully held on 29 to 30 October at AEON Midtown Falim Shopping Centre.
Chairman of the Perak State Health, Environment, Science and Green Technology Committee, Mohd Akmal Kamarudin was present on behalf of the Perak Chief Minister to inaugurate the programme.
Also present was Director of the Department of Environment (DOE) State of Perak, Rosli Zul.
Meanwhile, Rumaizi said MBI played the role of host for the organisation of the programme this year.
He further said that MBI has fully cooperated with the DOE and as many as 33 activities involving the preservation and conservation of the environment have been implemented so far.
He also hoped that the programme would be a starting point to achieve the goal of making Ipoh a Prosperous City.
