8 hours to extinguish a coffee factory on fire in Taiping

An 80×80 sqm coffee factory was destroyed by fire in Kampung Boyan early this morning.
According to a statement from the spokesman of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Perak, the factory was destroyed by as much as 80 percent and the firemen took about eight hours to ensure that the fire was completely extinguished.
He said that his party received a call regarding the incident at 4.38 this morning, when members of the Taiping Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were rushed to the location.
“The extinguishing operation took almost eight hours with the help of BBP Batu Kurau, BBP Bagan Serai, BBP Kamunting, water tankers from BBP Seri Iskandar and the Volunteer Fire Team (PBS) Parit Buntar.
“The fire involved a class A coffee factory which was 80 percent destroyed by fire, however it did not involve victims,” he said on Monday.
He also said that the fire brigade was instructed by the operation commander to extinguish the fire using four streams of 300 feet and six nozzles, until the fire was completely extinguished.
The operation led by Taiping BBP Head, PKPgB Rafeel Hairul Richard ended at 1pm.
