40 people won E-Waste raffle prizes

A total of RM10,000.00 in prizes was won in a lucky draw ceremony in conjunction with the 2022 Ipoh City Council Level Electrical and Electronic Waste (E-Waste) Collection Activity Programme.
Two draw sessions were broadcasted live on the official Facebook page of the Ipoh City Council (MBI) where the first session involved a total of 30 winners and the second session 10 winners.
City Secretary, Ahmad Munir Ishak said the lucky draw prize offer was sponsored by Syarikat Edsha Solutions Sdn. Bhd. A total of 626 participants have participated in this activity since May 22, 2022 to November 30, 2022.
“E-Waste collection activities are one of the starting activities for the transition of waste management from a linear economy to a cyclical economy. It highlights the collection activities of used cooking oil waste (converted to biofuel), used tires and recycled materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic, glass, aluminium.
“This competition involved 15 Local Authorities (PBT) in the state of Perak. In addition to being able to stimulate the economy, it is also able to ensure that the preservation and conservation of the environment continues to achieve the goal of sustainable development as targeted by MBI.
“A programme like this is expected to improve service performance holistically and further achieve Ipoh’s goal of the cleanest city by 2023,” he said through the text of the speech by the Ipoh mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin today.
All 30 lucky draw winners of the first session will receive RM100.00 cash, while the other 10 winners will receive cash starting from RM150.00 up to the first place of RM1,500.00.
The winners will be announced on MBI’s official website and Facebook. However, five reserve draws have been made for replacements if the successful winners have not been contacted within 14 days.
