The Perak government announced the granting of special financial assistance at the rate of one and a half month’s salary with a minimum of RM2,000 to civil servants in the state.
Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said that the full payment of the financial assistance will be made in the current year.
“Also receiving special assistance are Ex-Officio, all state-appointed teachers and part-time workers (PSH).
“However, this grant is exempted for the Menteri Besar and the Exco line,” he said in the 2023 Budget Presentation in conjunction with the Perak State Legislative Assembly Conference on Thursday.
He said, appreciating the unwavering commitment of civil servants, the state government provided RM2.0 million for claims for early payment of rest leave to those who are eligible, RM2.0 million for special incentives for retirees and RM0.05 million for incentives to perform Umrah or leave the country .
He said the state government also projected RM100 million in accumulated contributions from State Statutory Bodies for a period of 10 years from 2023 to 2032.
“This aims to reduce the dependence of the state government’s revenue which is currently largely focused on tax revenue,” he said.
