The Armada Open Day 2022 (HTA 2022) last Saturday was a success when it recorded an attendance of around 91,000 visitors.

The three-day event at the Royal Malaysian Naval Base (TLDM) Lumut gave the public the opportunity to take a closer look at the navy’s assets.

The Command Headquarters of the Western Fleet announced in a statement that it was celebrated with enthusiasm after not being able to be implemented for three consecutive years due to the pandemic.

According to the statement, HTA is traditionally organised in conjunction with the TLDM Anniversary on April 27 every year.

“It is an instrument to strengthen TLDM’s relationship with the community in addition to promoting the role of the national maritime agency in protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“This includes the participation of friendly agencies such as the Royal Malaysian Air Force, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency and the Marine Police Force,” said the statement.

Also making this event a success are the displays of the Army, the police, the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, the Royal Customs and Excise Department and the Immigration Department.

Visitors also had the opportunity to visit TLDM warships and witness various demonstrations involving TLDM assets including demonstrations

The opening ceremony of HTA22 was completed by the Commander of the Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd. Reza Mohd. Sany.
