Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Teluk Intan seized 11,000 litres of suspected diesel fuel that was meant to be misappropriated in a raid at a premises in the Anson Industrial area yesterday.
The raid started at about 9 am after investigations by enforcement officers for more than a week.
State chief enforcement officer for KPDN Perak, Mohamed Aznanshah Khalid, said a 40-year-old local man was also arrested in the raid to assist in the investigation.
“The result of the inspection found that there were 11 fibre tanks with a capacity of 1,000 litres containing suspected diesel fuel at the premises.
“The inspection also found two canvas-covered trucks with skid tanks, used to collect diesel fuel bought at petrol stations around Teluk Intan through the modified oil tank,” he said in a statement.
He said the investigation also found that the premises inspected did not have any licence or valid permission to store diesel oil controlled items.
“In that regard, the Teluk Intan KPDN acted by seizing an estimated 11,000 litres of suspected diesel oil, including two lorries with skid tanks.
“The total value of the seizure is estimated at RM201,000,” he said.
He said the case was investigated under Section 21 of the Control of Supplies Act 1961 for possessing controlled goods.
