Four men were arrested to help investigate the death of a PUSPEN trainee

The police arrested four men consisting of three staff members and a trainee at the Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (PUSPEN) to assist in the investigation into the death of a trainee at the centre, recently.
Perak Police Chief, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the four individuals aged between 30 and 38 were remanded for seven days starting yesterday.
“On January 31 at about 12.55pm, the police received information regarding the death of a 50-year-old local man at PUSPEN Perlop, Sungai Siput.
“The preliminary investigation found that there were injuries on the deceased’s body.
“The victim was taken to Sungai Siput Hospital (U) and then referred to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) for an autopsy.
“The results of the autopsy confirmed that there were injuries on the back of the deceased’s body as a result of being hit with a blunt object,” he said in a statement on Friday.
He said the case was classified according to Section 302 of the Penal Code.
Therefore, he said, the public is advised not to spread unauthentic information and not to make any speculations that could interfere with the investigation.
