A total of three houses in Kampung Redang Panjang, Ijok were flooded following a flash flood due to continuous rain late this afternoon.
According to the spokesperson of the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) Selama unit, the heavy two-hour rain also resulted in river water overflowing onto the main road and nearby houses.
“The state of the main road and the grounds of the residents’ houses are flooded at a level of 0.5 metres due to the overflow of water from the nearby river.
“The main road of Kampung Redang Panjang Luar has been cut off, the main route leading to Kota Raja Bersiong and the estimated number of houses flooded is three,” he said in a statement on Friday.
According to the statement, APM Selama has been monitoring the surrounding area in addition to going to the location to make a risk assessment in the flooded area.
“However, no temporary evacuation centre (PPS) was opened as a result of the incident.
“The current situation here is still raining and APM members will continue monitoring operations in areas that are at risk and flooded,” he said.
