A dialogue session was held between tourism operators in the Lower Perak district together with the Chairman of the state Tourism Committee, Loh Sze Yee during a visit last Saturday.

The main objective of the visit was to listen to issues brought up by tourism operators including sharing ideas for reform in developing the tourism sector.

This programme was organised in conjunction with Sze Yee’s visit to the Teluk Intan Municipal Council (MPTI).

He has visited several tourist locations including Menara Condong, Sungai Bidor Railway, Madrasah Al-Ihsaniah and Teluk Intan Old Police Station.

Also visited are the Old Court building, Rick Resort, Hock Soon Keong Temple, Street Mural Teluk Intan and Bangau Island.

Accompanying him is MPTI Secretary, Ramdhatun Ajma Jemail and Tourism Perak Chief Executive Officer, Nurmalis Musa.

Meanwhile, the Head of the MPTI Corporate Division, Megat Amerudin Megat Danian, visited some of the heritage trails to see the locations more closely.

“The focus is on buildings owned by the Federal Land Commissioner that cannot be developed as tourist spots due to ownership constraints and are abandoned.

“The visit session to Bangau Island is to review the infrastructure, potential and conservation issues of the island,” he said.
