IPOH – The Tambun Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) in Ipoh which is already operational, will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim next week.
The Prime Minister is also a Member of Parliament for Tambun.
Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming announced the matter in a tweet on his Twitter account yesterday.
“Informing that the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will inaugurate a new fire station in the Tambun Parliament next week,” said the official.
BBP Tambun is among the seven new fire stations that have been completed by the government through KPKT to improve the capabilities of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM).
The fire station had previously been officially handed over by the Public Works Department to the Perak state JBPM in December 2021.
The construction of the fire station is important because of the position of Tambun which is a rapidly developing area covering Tanjung Rambutan and Chemor.
It can also shorten the rescue time because the nearest fire stations are in Ipoh and Meru Raya.
