QIU HOLDS NEON NIGHT CHARITY RUN TO BENEFIT SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATION
IPOH – Running enthusiasts, it’s time for you to shine (and glow) during Quest International University’s charity Neon Night Run 2023!
Held on March 11, the 5km run will give participants the chance to run together under Ipoh’s cool night air decked out in radiant, multicoloured neon accessories.
After crossing the finish line, runners can celebrate their achievement by joining in a rip-roaring outdoor neon rave, with performances by local DJs.
Organised by QIU’s Faculty of Business and Management, this year’s event is the second charity run of its kind in QIU, with the previous edition held in 2019, a year before the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, proceeds from the run will be donated to Ipoh’s Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendidikan Khas, Jalan Kuala Kangsar.
Dean of QIU’s Faculty of Business and Management Professor Dr Abdul Raheem Mohamad Yusof said “We want the Neon Night Run to be a tradition at QIU, as it’s a fantastic way to bring members of the community together for a healthy activity.”
“At the same time, donating the proceeds to Sekolah Kebangsaan Pendidikan Khas is an honour. We are always excited to support special needs education via our community impact programmes and the university’s Special Needs Education degree programme.”
The run will flag off at 7.30 pm from QIU’s campus building along Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun. The route will take runners on a 5km route around the campus and its surrounding areas.
All members of the public are welcome to join, with registration open until March 8. The registration fee is RM48 with an early bird fee of RM45 for participants who register by March 3.
The top five male and female finishers will receive a special medal, while all participants will get a running T-shirt, finisher’s medal, goodie bag and an e-certificate. Lucky draw prizes also await the runners.
