IPOH – The traffic route on the North-South Highway heading south from the tunnel to Ipoh (north) is congested for 11 kilometres following the incident of a tanker truck overturning at Kilometer (KM) 265.6.
According to PLUS Malaysia Berhad, the incident occurred from the Menora Tunnel heading north at 6.47pm today which caused the left lane to be blocked.
“As of 9pm, the latest status informs that all southbound lanes are still closed.
“The U-turn at the Menora Tunnel is still activated while the traffic is congested for 5km. Please use an alternative route and exit at the Kuala Kangsar toll plaza. Please be aware,” said the statement.
Traffic is also slow from Changkat Jering towards Kuala Kangsar and users are asked to exit at the Kuala Kangsar toll plaza.
No information about injuries or deaths and the number of victims involved have been obtained so far.
