IPOH – Decorations made from discarded materials won the Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) when it emerged as the winner of the Local Authority Website (PBT) competition in the Municipal Council category.
This creativity was highlighted by MPM officers on National Landscape Day 2023 (HLN23) which took place at DR Seenivasagam Park here.
The decorative theme with a maritime concept mixed with digital features highlights the image of cheerfulness and fun following the image of MPM as a tourist city.
MPM President, Syamsul Hazeman Md. Salleh said that used e-waste materials were designed into decorations and recycled bottles were also used to form fish and jellyfish.
According to him, designs such as motorcycles and cars made from used materials such as tires also became decorative landscapes and cradles of Teluk Batik.
“Congratulations to all MPM employees who is directly and indirectly involved.
“Also to the MPM Landscape Unit in particular, who put in the sweat and ideas to be able to produce a decoration site that successfully made the name of Manjung renowned,” he said.
Yesterday’s HLN2023 celebration was officiated by Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, second place was won by Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council with the theme of revolving around yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Eight main tourism product elements were on display as well as regional-themed tree decorations such as Kangsar, Ipoh, Beruas, Pulai, Rengas trees and others.
Congratulations to the Town Planning Department and Landscape Division, Engineering Department and Hygiene Division for their victory and efforts.
