IPOH – Member of the Perak State Assembly, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini was appointed as the new Chairman of UDA Holdings Berhad (UDA) effective yesterday.
The appointment was announced by Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick in a statement issued by UDA.
Mohd Annuar who is also an administrative figure is now the Chairman of the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk).
He was the Chairman of the National News Organization (BERNAMA) for six years.
Mohd Annuar, who holds a Master’s Degree in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University, USA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), started his career in government service as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer in 1977.
He has served in several ministries and government departments at the Federal level as well as the Perak government before retiring by choice in 1999 to venture into the private sector.
Meanwhile, Ewon Benedick in a statement informed that the appointment of Mohd Annuar can bring the agency together with the ministry to empower entrepreneurs through its business segment
“In addition, the appointment can also support the government’s desire towards the development of CIVIL Malaysia,” he said in the statement.
